Claire Carpenter - The power of the spoken word


Claire Carpenter is an award-winning public speaker and speaking coach. Her speciality is helping people of all ages to overcome their fear and deliver powerful and persuasive presentations. Clients have delivered speeches in the House of Lords, the South Bank Centre and the European Business School after her coaching.

In July 2014 Claire entered the London heat of the The Speaker Factor, a competition run by the Professional Speaking Association. She won the London heat, got through the semi-final and then won first place in the national final in October 2014. The finals were judged by internationally renowned speakers Patricia Fripp, Paul du Toit and Simon Bucknall.

Claire has written and delivered speeches for business audiences, writers groups, entrepreneurs and civic groups. She is a past President of Eastbourne Speakers Club, a branch of Toastmasters International. She has written for The Times, The Independent and magazines such as London Mums, Vivacious Mums, LIME Magazine and Working Mums. She has appeared on the Alan Titchmarsh Show on ITV.

She is committed to helping young people succeed and has worked with the Princes Trust. She is also author of the children's books series Yes You Can Books, and delivers inspirational workshops in schools.
