About Me

I was born in London in the early ‘seventies, and grew up there, with my Mum, my Dad and two brothers.   I had a great childhood, playing in the park or out in the street, and my favourite things were dancing, roller skating and reading.

I did lots of studying and ended up at university studying Business and French.  Then I tried lots of different jobs, some I liked and some I didn’t.  But I never stopped reading and I became fascinated by the study of success and happiness.  I wondered what it was that made some people successful and fulfilled while others were struggling.

I read lots of books by people like Napoleon Hill, Brian Tracy, Susan Jeffers and Anthony Robbins.  I began to realise that the secret to a fulfilled life of inner peace and joy lies in our own minds.  Our attitude and thinking will determine the type of life we need, much more so than our intelligence or our education.

When my own children were born, I wanted the best for them, like all parents do.  I made sure they were fed properly, got enough sleep, and gave them lots of attention and love.  But I realised that if I really wanted to prepare them for their life ahead, I would need to teach them to have the right attitude.

I really wanted my son to think for himself and to hold on to his dreams until they came true.  I wanted my daughter to believe in herself and her extraordinary capabilities.   No matter how much I protected them I knew that life was likely to throw challenges at them from time to time – life is like that! – and I wanted them to have the resilience to deal with those challenges, learn from them, and move on.

So I started writing stories which encourage positive thinking patterns and behaviours, drawing from all the lessons I’ve learnt over the years.   I found a (fantastic!) illustrator and together we created our first picture book, Hold on Tight.  Our second book Yes You Can! is out soon and there are many more in the pipeline!
