Something Odd...
This is a page from my next book Something Odd... which will be out soon.
I wanted to write a story based around the famous quote by the car manufacturer Henry Ford: “Whether you think you can, or whether you think you can’t, you are absolutely right.” It’s a hugely powerful truth and a strong reminder of how our thinking can affect our lives.
The idea for the story came from my young daughter.
One day she said she couldn’t
answer a question she was asked at nursery, but after a while her brain “just told
her what the answer was”. I liked the idea of our brain being a completely separate
entity from us, with a mind all of its own!
I wanted the book to be funny, while encouraging a “can-
